Thank you so much for visiting our site. I trust that you find our speaker services helpful, if I can assist in any manner, e-mail me and I will respond. My name is Ge'ylah Jones Bradford. I am the founder of Power of the Tongue, Inc. I am a performance poet, speaker and author. Many of you are aware that I perform a one-woman show, entitled... "Power of the Tongue".
I have performed classic poetry and literature, of all genres, since the age of five. I understood, early in life, the power that words command. Storytellers, spanning from Beowulf' to the African griot, held much power within their tongue. They told stories filled with triumph & tragedy; stories to uplift, entertain and encourage.
You and I have stories. They are filled with triumph and tragedy. If we trace the root of our most painful stories, we end right where we began.... telling a story, about another person's painful words to us.
Thus you have, my dual explanation for Power of the Tongue. It is a tribute to the oral tradition as well as a plea for people to realize that they are the great orator of now.
They, too have POWER WITHIN THEIR TONGUE.
I would like for you to walk away with an excerpt from my poem:
Words kill, create and defy destruction.
Words tear down or lift up.
Use your tongue for the betterment of another.
The uplifting of others
Don't let it be said that your words were harsh, vulgar , belittling or cruel.
Remember, words can be food for thought or a fire's fuel"
